State Selection Board Odisha (SSB Odisha) has invited online applications for permanent recruitment to 883 posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Clerk in State Public Universities, Government Degree Colleges and Non-Government Aided Colleges, under Advt 01/2026. The online application process is open until 13-04-2026.
These administrative posts mainly involve clerical and office support duties such as maintaining records, handling official correspondence, assisting in documentation work, and supporting day-to-day functioning of the institution or department. Candidates selected for these roles will work in academic institutions under the Higher Education Department of Odisha. Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of Written Test, Computer Skill Test, and Document Verification.
Written Test
Written test will be an MCQ-based examination conducted for 200 marks consisting of 100 questions, with a duration of 2 hours. For each incorrect answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted as negative marking. The qualifying marks in the written exam will be 40% for candidates under the Unreserved category and 30% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and SEBC categories.

Test will be conducted at five examination zones including Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Jeypore, and Sambalpur. In case of a tie in the written test, the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation will be considered. If the tie still persists, the candidate older in age will be placed higher in the shortlisting order.
Computer Skill Test
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Computer Skill Test based on their performance in the written test. The number of candidates shortlisted will be two times the number of vacancies (category-wise). Computer Skill Test will be conducted for 50 marks with a minimum qualifying mark of 20 marks for all categories. Duration of the test will be 1 hour.

Document Verification
Candidates who qualify both the Written Test and the Computer Skill Test will be called for Document Verification at the office of the State Selection Board, Bhubaneswar. Candidates must produce mentioned original certificates along with self-attested copies.
- Print copy of the submitted online application form.
- HSC (10th) or equivalent certificate and mark sheet in support of date of birth and percentage of marks.
- Higher Secondary (+2) certificate and mark sheets.
- Computer learning certificate.
- Two recent passport size photographs similar to the one uploaded in the online application form with name and roll number written on the back.
- Conduct certificate issued by the college, university, or institution last attended.
- Resident certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Odia certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or an equivalent authority.
- If applicable:
- Caste certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
- Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen candidates.
- Disability certificate for PwD candidates issued by the concerned Medical Board.
- Identity card of sportspersons issued by the Secretary or Director of Sports.
- No Objection Certificate issued by the competent authority.
Final Merit List
Final selection of candidates will be based on combined marks obtained in Written Test and Computer Skill Test by those candidates who successfully complete the document verification. In case of a tie, the marks secured in the Written Test will be considered. If the tie still persists, the date of birth will be considered and the candidate born earlier will be placed higher in the merit list.
Final merit list will be prepared by considering the combined merit of the Written Test and Computer Skill Test along with the preferences submitted by the candidates.
Fee Structure :
- Rs. 500/- for candidates belonging to Unreserved and SEBC categories.
- Rs. 200/- for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), and PwD categories.
- Payment will be accepted only through the online SB Collect payment gateway available in the application form.
How to Apply :
- Apply online through the official portal of the State Selection Board Odisha (SSB Odisha).
- Enter the percentage of aggregate marks obtained in the Undergraduate (+3) degree while filling the form. If the result is in C.G.P.A., convert it into percentage as per the formula prescribed by the respective university or institution.
- Upload the required documents including a recent passport size photograph (taken within 15 days before application submission), scanned image of full signature, and left-hand thumb impression. All uploaded images must be clearly identifiable.
- Pay the prescribed application fee through the online SB Collect payment gateway.
- Submit the online application form on or before the closing date (13-04-2026). No edit or correction facility will be available after final submission of the application form.
- After successful submission and payment of the application fee, download the submitted application form and keep a copy safely for future reference and for use during document verification.
- Applicants are not required to send a printed copy of the application form to SSB Odisha at this stage.
